Making Meals Fun for You and the Kids!

Stop healthy eating being thought of as ‘boring’ eating.

Quite often, healthy eating is thought of as a ‘boring’ way of eating. This is just not true. A bit of creativity can go a long way! Just look at this week’s recipe – its basically dessert for breakfast and only takes a few minutes to whip up.

Creativity can also go along way with the kids. This week’s recipe is something that the kids will love the look of as well as something they can help prepare – especially while the school holidays are on.

Getting children involved in the kitchen can help establish healthy habits and give them the skills and knowledge to create healthier meals as they grow up!

Children are also more likely to have a positive attitude towards their food and are more likely to try new fruit and vegetables if they have been involved in the food preparation.

This is a more relaxed approach to getting your kids to eat more fruit and vege or just eat more. Using other foods as rewards or telling kids they can’t leave the table until they have ‘2 more bites’ has shown to be less effective in encouraging healthy food choices or eating more.

So use up some of your kids school holidays energy by getting them in the kitchen to help improve their cooking skills, healthy food knowledge and hopefully get them more excited about eating more fruit and vege!

Check out this week’s recipe which is fun for you and the kids to both prepare and eat!
