City of Parramatta Council

Parramatta City Council is a local government area in the central western suburbs of Sydney NSW. The Council is proud of the importance of their changing City, their contemporary culture and centuries of heritage. City of Parramatta Council is committed to providing healthy and active opportunities for residents, workers and visitors to improve their health and wellbeing, and encourage active participation.

Council takes a collaborative approach to providing healthy and active opportunities using policy, programs and infrastructure initiatives to change health behaviours across the community. Some examples of these are the Active Parramatta E-newsletter, Active Parramatta Van, Celebrating Girls in Sport, Outdoor Fitness Training Sessions, Health Program at Newington Community Centre, School Holiday Programs, Sport Club Development and their partnership with Live Life Get Active.

City of Parramatta Council partnered with Live Life Get Active in February 2016 and currently sponsors 2 locations. Without the generous support of City of Parramatta Council, the provision of free outdoor fitness camps at these locations would not be possible. For more information about their camp locations and what members have to say, please read below.
