Are You Worried About Self Image?
In our latest story from one of our members, we explain how exercise can address self image issues by making you feel better about yourself as well as helping you tone and shed the kilos! This is Amber’s story from our Miranda camp in Sutherlandshire.
I’m a 25 year old full time carer for my mother who has spinal stenosis and I also studying at uni part time. I had always had a problem with the way I looked and felt about myself and usually gave up quite quickly when trying to get active and lose some weight.
By chance I came across Live Life Get Active’s facebook page and immediately signed up to start with the launch of the Miranda camp in August last year. I remember feeling so nervous beforehand about not knowing anyone or being too unfit to finish the class that I almost decided not to go.
I’m so glad I went! The trainers were fantastic and everyone is so supportive of each other, I was hooked.
I’ve managed to shed just over 40kgs, as well as losing 19cm off my waist and 27cm off of my hips. I’m much fitter and healthier than I’ve ever been, but I’m also much happier and confident within myself – not to mention I’ve met some pretty amazing people along the way.
